StoneClan's Origins
Before the clans formed, back when the valley was full of rogues and loners, there was a cat called Boulder. He was tired of the constant attacks by other rogue groups and craved safety for the small band of cats he led. So he established a well protected camp at the base of the mountain side, deep in the forest. Still the group suffered from constant intrusions by those rogue groups. Boulder would train up his followers to defend and drive off the intruders but it was a struggle. He would recruit other cats who would agree to his terms and was the first group to establish territory with regular border patrols. Yet one night he was visited in his dreams by his ancestor and was informed of two other groups who shared similar goals.
Boulder would go to meet them and suggest they work together in order to drive out the remaining rogue groups that plagued them. Through several more meeting he would learn of the MoonCave were he would be granted nine lives to protect his clan. Boulder would become Boulderstar and would become known across the valley for the length he would go to protect his clan. It was through the other clan leaders, Minnow and Echostar that he would learn compassion and to treat outsiders with empathy. Still StoneClan has never been known for their acceptance of outsiders and likely never will; It takes a stalwart cat to survive in the cold, damp forests and windy mountains of StoneClan.
Common Attributes
Stoneclan tends to have primarily longhaired cats though a few medium-haired cats exist. All cats though have a dense and fluffy undercoat to keep them warm in the shadow forests and cliff sides. Almost any color can be found though any shade of orange tends to be on the rare side and solid white cats cannot be found at all. This is because white stands out far too much on the rock face and makes them too easy to spot by birds of prey; If they are born they don't make it past apprenticeship as they tend to get picked off. They are sturdy cats with large muscular hind legs; This is why they are known for their climbing and jump abilities. StoneClan cats tend to be reserved with outsiders and often thought of as cold or rude by the other clans. Yet within their own clan they care deeply for clan members and have been known for their elaborate mourning rituals.
